My America
These images, which include the images from my 2019 retrospective “My America,” as well as others from over the years, represent a composite picture, over time, of my country and my world—at least the American side of it…
I am a writer, journalist, and photographer from New York, USA, now based in Riga, Latvia. As a writer specializing in the Baltic region my articles, frequently illustrated with my own photographs, have appeared in a wide range of American and British publications, including The New York Times, Financial Times, Politico, Foreign Policy, and many others. I am also an author of numerous books about Baltic history. I have mounted numerous exhibits of my photography both in the U.S. and the Baltic region, including "My America 2," the retrospective of my U.S. photography which was exhibited at the VEF Culture Palace in Riga in 2019 (September-October). I studied history and architecture at Cornell University.
