REVISITING THE MAD MAN OF TV: SERLING!

Submitted for your perusal. In case you haven’t heard, Serling: The Rise and Twilight of Television’s Last Angry Man, my first Pulitzer-nominated book and ode to Requiem for a Heavyweight, The Twilight Zone, and all things Serlingesque, was recently reissued by the Cornell University Press. With a lapidary foreword by tv historian Ron Simon, who has called Serling one of the ten best books ever written about television, and a mind-bending set of photos of Rod in his various incarnations, as well as stills from Seven Days in May, and some of Serling’s lesser known tv and screen works, Serling: The Rise and Twilight of TV’s Last Angry Man, and several photos I shot myself of Serling’s manse and pool in Pacific Palisades, or as Rod put it, “The Land of Mink Swimming Pools.” With the country still mad about the Mad Men era and the “twilight zone” a household phrase, it’s high time for you to take another dip in Serling
